As a member of the South Texas Chapter of the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC), Alterman's electricians complete a comprehensive five-year apprenticeship program that combines 1,000 hours of classroom instruction with a minimum of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. Focusing on Skill, Knowledge, and Attitude, completion of the program requires a firm commitment and a strong work ethic.

Alterman supplements electrical training with in-house technology training and certification, code classes, continuing education, and new product training. Alterman is registered by the State of Texas to teach continuing education courses necessary to maintain electrical licensing.

Our communications technicians are trained in the design, installation, and maintenance of structured cabling systems; Cat. 5, 5e, and 6 cable; and the splicing and termination of fiber optic and multi-pair copper cable. Individual certification by each manufacturer is required for structured cabling certifications, and three years of experience with complex structured cabling systems along with successful completion of examination are required for technicians.
